We, Yuvak
Pratishthan, glad to inform that we have started a Permanent Medical Health
Centre at Junction of J.N. Road and Kasturba Road, Mulund (W), Mumbai 400080,
in the name of ‘YUVAK PRATISHTHAN’S SAMARPAN AROGYA KENDRA’, where Orthopaedic
aid, Pathological Tests will be performed on charitable rates, Subsidised
Medications, Cataract Operation & Eye Correction Operation, Counseling
& Care, T.B. DOT Centre, Ambulance Services, Mobile Check-up camps daily,
Yoga Classes and Complete Health Check-up will be done at minimal charges.
The Inauguration of the
centre was done during the month on 11th June at the hands of Shri
Datta Dalvi, Hon. Mayor of Mumbai. Dr.
Kirit Somaiya, Dr. Medha Soamiya and many more prominent persons were present
at the ceremony.
The centre started in
association with North East Zone Chemists Association. The centre provides both Allopathic and
Homeopathic treatment. Upto 30th
June, we would like to mention here that a total of 481 patients have visited
the centre and get benefited through allopathic medication and 1 through
homeopathic.
1 pathological test, 1 DNC
treatment and 1 sonography have been performed at very subsidised rate i.e.
upto 50% concession. In all 9 Asthama, 3 Sugar, 12 Blood Pressure and 2
Pregnant cases are found.
We request the citizen of Mulund, Bhandup and
all nearby areas to visit the centre and take benefits of all the medication /
health related problems from our centre.

PALAVI – (‘S’ Ward)
The PPTCT project has been given a name
‘PALAVI’ from Mumbai District AIDS Control Society.

A meeting with Community Health Volunteers
(CHVs) of the BMC Health Posts had been arranged 29th June 2006, 11.00 a. m at
BTVM, Mulund (E), Mumbai jointly with Yuvak Pratishthan and BMC. 122 CHVs (from five health posts) had been
participated and discussed about the PPTCT involvement. Positive response has been received.
Dr. Sameer Pawar & Mr.
Rakesh, representative of MDACS, Mr. Hiware CDO (Community Development
Officer), and Mrs. Priyanka Phadnis, Project Co-ordinator (E Ward), Yuvak
Pratishthan, Ms. Sunita Pawar (S Ward), Project Co-ordnitaor Yuvak Pratishthan,
Mr. Rahul Gaikwad, Counsellor, YP, S ward and all Out reach workers of YP was
attended this meeting
Dr. Sameer Pawar explained
about Palavi project and the role of the CHV in this project.
Areas visited by our Out
Reach Workers and given proper assistance and guidance to thousands of families.
A data shows 3130 families
are visited in the month. Out of which
3979 male and 4068 female, 5259 children get benefited through one to one
counselling. 106 ANC cases found. 39 have been referred to our centres at
Savitribai Maternity Home & Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital. 6 male, 1 female agreed for voluntary
testing. They have been referred to
VCTC and 6 Tuberculosis patient (2 male & 4 female) was sent to DOT centre
for further treatment and care. 49
cases of Diabetes and 53 STD cases are found. Referred to STD Centre for
further treatment and care.
PALAVI – (‘E’ Ward)
This month in ‘E’ Ward
area, our Out Reach Workers had direct interactions with 3820 families. 3918 male and 4779 female were the
beneficiaries. They were counselled, guided
and given proper guidance on health related matters, HIV & PPTCT Centre,
Prevention and Family Planning.
In all, No cases found of
opportunistic infections. 42 ANC
patients found out of which 9 have been referred to Nair Hospital PPTCT
Centre. 15 cases are found suffering
from Tuberculosis. 3 female & 1
male referred to VCTC for HIV testing.
7 cases of Candidacies have been referred to STD Centres. 84 persons of
other cases like Diabetes, BP etc. were found, which includes 38 male and 46
female.
Jeevan Aayu :-
Doing regular
follow-up and feedback received in the month of June, from the partner NGOs
regularly.
JEEVAN AKSHAY
(SEVA MOBILE CAMP) –
In the month of
June, 7 camps were held at 2 centres at Kamraj Nagar and Ramabai Nagar. 345 beneficiaries checked, guided and
provided medicines.
134 at Kamraj Nagar,
which includes 20 male, 59 female and 55 children performed complete
check-up. 211 at Ramabai Nagar,
covering 30 male, 102 female, 79 children benefited.
7 STD patients are
found at Ramabai Nagar Centre. They referred to STD Centre for further guidance
and care.
Jeevan Aasha –
In
the month of June, 110 patients have visited our office and inquired about
Jeevan Aasha. 32 patients have received
financial assistance this month from different Trusts. Others are under process. The following chart is showing the category

Patient to be screened for CT-Scan & 3 MRI are forwarded to private
institutions to be done at very concessional rates i.e. upto 60% discount in
their charges.
We
are receiving regular appreciation and gratitude from the patients.
Clean Mulund
Abhiyaan
A Proposal for
‘Cleanliness Drive in Mulund’ submitted to Municipal Corporation of Greater
Mumbai and sanctioned this month. We
had a meeting with Mr. Nilesh Kandalgaonkar, Representative from Vivam Agrotech,
Aurangabad, in connection with execution of Vermi-composting and Biogas
Project. Three places identified and
selected a) Vijay Nagar Garden, b) Mandai Jalaram Market and c) Yuvak
Pratishthan’s Office Premise.
Mr. Arun Gawali and
Mr. Sandipan Gawali on behalf of Jalaram Market Mandai Hawkers Union, have
visited our office and discussed about the lightening of Jalaram Market through
biogas.
Slum
Intervention Project
All
the regular activities, like BCC Event, One to One, One to Group Sessions,
Condom Promotion & Distribution, Tertiary Visit, Secondary Visit, Video
Shows, Lectures, Posters Exhibitions, Establishment of Condom Outlets,
Treatment and Followup of STD patients, have been done. No other activities performed this month.
We
