Dear Friends,

Inauguration of Dental Clinic on the eve of Independence Day this month.  You are aware that Yuvak Pratishthan is running a Polyclinic namely ‘Yuvak Pratishthan’s Samarpan Arogya Kendra’ in Mulund suburb of Mumbai providing medical services to the poor and needy patients. On demand of the local residents, we have started ‘Dental Clinic’ under guidance & monitoring of Dental Specialist Dr. Rachna Singh & Dr. Shraddha Kansara (BDS). 

The Clinic has been inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Kirit Somaiya, President of Yuvak Pratishthan.  Dr. Medha Somaiya (Gen. Secretary), Shri Dilip Hajare (Municipal Councilor), Smt. Amita Shah (Municipal Councilor), Shri Damjibhai Palan (North East Zone Chemist Association), Smt. Kashmira Bhatt (President, BTVM), Shri Vishal Rambhia, Shri Sanjay Ratnaparakhi (Trustee Yuvak Pratishthan), and other prominent persons were present during inaugural ceremony.

The facilities available to the clinic for dental care are Teeth Whitening, Dental Crowns & Bridges, Dental Capping, Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Implant & Restoration, Root Canal; Dental X-ray etc. along with all types of dental problem will be treated at a very minimal cost.

Now, regular updates from Yuvak Pratishthan for the month of August ’08 are given as under:

MOBILE GENERAL CHECK–UP CAMPS: Regular mobile camps continued daily 4 camps through two mobile vans at different areas of Mumbai suburbs. 

111 camps held in the month of August which includes 57 morning and 54 evening camps.  2362 patients were performed complete check-up and given medicines.  Click here for Camp details.

We request the citizen of all nearby areas to visit the centre and take benefits of all the medication / health related problems.

CENTRE FOR SLUM STUDIES : This month on 15^th Aug., a programme was arranged on the commencement of next batch of Certificate and Post Graduate Diploma Course under CCS programme for the year 2008-2009.  A Filed visit was also arranged same day at Annabhau Sathe Nagar, Mankhurd for the CSS and DSSD students.

A workshop was arranged on 26^th Aug. on the topic Paryavaran Snehi Ganeshotsav for student of Certificate Course in Waste Management. 86 students were participated and benefited.

On 31^st Aug., A Field visit was arranged at Waste Segregation Centre, Sewri, for DSSD students.  In addition to this 16 lectures related to Environment and Lifestyle was delivered at Anik MMRDA site, Chembur.

PALAVI  KENDRA : Ante-Natal Care (ANC) of the pregnant women mobilization in Four Administrative Wards of Greater Mumbai; 'M/East' ward, ‘E’ ward and ‘S’ ward were covered during the month.

We would like to inform you that we have been awarded the new ‘M/East Administrative Ward with effect from August 1, 2008 to run the PPTCT Centre under the project.  The previous ‘A’ & ‘G/South’ wards have been completed by reaching targeted population of the areas.

Our Out Reach Workers visited families in their respective wards, interacted with them and guided them about the health related problems.  They were counselled, guided and given proper guidance on health related matters, HIV & PPTCT Centre, Prevention and Family Planning.

Community meetings were held for Mahila Mandals, Health Posts, Beauty Parlor, Small Industries, Vyayamshala etc. The participants have been informed about Palavi Kendra.  IEC material and booklets for awareness distributed among them.

All the patients were treated with proper medication & counseling about their health related problems.  Pathological tests were done at very concessional rates.

We would like to inform that the Mulund centre has started X-ray and Sonography facility at very concessional rates.  Patients are requested to visit the centre to avail this facility on nominal charges.

JEEVAN AASHA :  This month, 64 patients visited our office and registered under Jeevan Aasha.  33 patients in all have received financial assistance this month from different Trusts for different ailments.  Others are under process.  Category of the patients / cases:

Besides, we have received more than 100 phone calls for enquiry / assistance during the month.

We are receiving regular appreciation and gratitude from the patients.

We express our heartiest gratitude to all the trusts / hospitals / doctors / social activists, for extending their support / help to the poor and needy patients for their surgery / treatment.
