Same day another Mobile Medical Van was inaugurated at the hands of Hon. Municipal Commissioner Shri Jayraj Phatak. This is the second van we have launched this year. The first van is running daily 2 times in the suburban areas.  The details are given hereunder in the Mobile Medical Check-up Camps section.

Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Shri Jayraj Phatak inaugurating the Mobile Van on 30 Nov 07

We have earlier mentioned that Eastern suburbs of Mumbai needed preventative healthcare, where most of the children, women are unable to access public services including healthcare due to unaffordable or unavailable facilities.  A number of illnesses affect the downtrodden people of Eastern suburbs of Mumbai. They do not use hygienic measure to prevent infection. Lack of first aid facilities in remote areas is the cause of many infections. A periodic visit of mobile medical van is much required in this area.  A mobile medical van is a practical mechanism for delivering acute and preventative care in the Eastern suburbs of Mumbai i.e. Bhandup (East & West), Kanjurmarg (East), Ghatkopar (Ramabai Nagar & Kamraj Nagar) and Mankhurd, which covers the slum areas of 5 lacs downtrodden population. The most common pediatric illnesses were parasites, skin infections, fever, undiagnosed asthma, symptomatic anemia and malnutrition.

In view of the above, we have launched and started Mobile Medical Clinic that will cater to the needs of health facilities in these areas.  We will work for the benefit of patients in various fields of health care.

Mobile General Check–up camps: Regular mobile camps started daily 2 times at different areas of Mumbai suburbs.  The details are as under:
