Bhartiya Tatwadnyan Vishwasth Mandal was founded in 1998 and since then it is working in Mulund. From last 6 years Women's wing of BTVM is actively organising programmes in various areas for children and women such as Sanskar Shibir, Dandiya, Funfairs, Lectures etc. BTVM is running the Pre - Vocational Training Centre for mentally challenged children at Mulund (In Association with Chatanya Palak Sangh). 40 students are now in the school of BTVM and it is trying to train these students in different fields & is working for their skill up-gradation.


Some of the activities are:

1.

Exhibition-Cum-Sale of Articles: The students during their training manufacture different articles. BTVM organises the exhibition-cum-sale of these articles on different occasions like Diwali & Ganpati Festivals.

2.

Orders Fulfilment: (On Job Training) BTVM takes orders of different cooking / dishes / food items & gets it done by the students.


Special Programme:

Mumbai level dance competition for mentally retarded children was organised by BTVM. The competition includes Solo & Group Dances.

182 students from 3 school participated in the competition and were awarded gifts as appreciation.

Gathering of the Parents of Mentally Retarded Children:

BTVM has organised a gathering of parents of Mentally Retarded Children in Mumbai. The problems faced by these parents were discussed and were tried to be solved.

Work done in Mental Hospital :

In Thane, besides Mumbai, a Mental Hospital for 100 patients is situated.
BTVM has organised some activities in Mental Hospital.

Sports for patients.

Celebrating festivals with patients.

Activities :
1.
Sex & Gynecological Education Programme:
 

The major problems in the slums is the unawareness about sexual & gynecological education in women. Small rooms, congested gallis, dadas in slums create major sexual problems for the budding girls, especially teenagers. The lady in home always tries to neglect her own problems / sickness in favour of the family welfare.

BTVM has decided to organise 5 camps at Kanjurmarg & Bhandup for women regarding Sex & Gynecological Education. More than 1200 women participated in these programmes which were arranged in their localities.

Leadership Training for Women:
 

BTVM is working with more than 250 Community Based Organisations (CBO's) in Mumbai. The women organisations had organised a Leadership Training Programme for Women Activists. The training included Public Speaking, Letter writing, Account Writing etc. 52 Women Activists participated in the training.

3.
Training Programme on Laws related to Women:
 

BTVM has organised Training programme on different laws related to women. This includes Electricity, Police Protection, Municipal Corporation, BEST Women Laws and Consumer Guidance etc. 200 women participated in the programme. This programme was organised in the local language i.e. Marathi.

4.
Tailoring Machines Distributed :
 

Women from slums demands Self Employment / some kind of money raising activities. BTVM in association with Yuvak Pratishthan has distributed Tailoring Machines to Women Organisations. 54 machines were given in 30 organisations. Out of this 21 organisations are working successfully.

5. Active Participation in Millenium Khel Mahotsav:
 

BTVM in association with Yuvak Pratishthan has actively participated in Millenium Khel Mahotsav. One Minute games were organised for women in slums / chawls and more than 5,000 women participated. Races, Indoor games were organised for women. More than 80 women organisations were co-organisors of this event.
