Work
Done during Mumbai Flood Disaster – 26th
July
We
have started relief measures to help the victims
of the recent heavy rains and flood in Mumbai,
which causes numbers of houses have been destroyed
/ damaged. Thousands of affected people in the
slums are striving for their daily livelihood in
absence of necessary goods. YP with all its
capacities and efforts is trying to cope up with
the conditions and helping out the people by the
medium of providing kits including goods required
for day to day necessities and all other possible
things to make them maintain their daily life.
We
would like to mention here that Yuvak Pratishthan,
from the third day, started, got involved in flood
relief work. Our first Medical Centre was opened
at Saki Naka on the third day itself. 100 people
died over there.
Yuvak
Pratisthan has completed 100 medical camps during
25 days. About one lakh flood affected were
medically checked up and free medicines were
distributed.
We
have distributed 50,000 Chatais / Chaddars among
the affected families.
Langars
stared from July 29, at Ghatkopar, Kurla, Powai,
Bhandup East & West and about 13300 persons
taken meal for two times for almost a week.
Total 1,72,000 nos.
of Note Books have been distributed for the
students of BMC & Private Schools, who have
lost their study material in flood.

kgs. of Rice, 5000 kgs. of Soyabin, 5600 kgs.
Sugar and 2100 kgs. have been distributed in 29
Bastis among more than 10,000 families of worst
affected areas.
