Dear Friends,

We are very happy to inform you now the very first month of the New Year was encouraging and promising us as our activities are concerned.

On the 4th of January 2007 an exhibition-cum-sale fair was organized by ‘Jan Shikshan Sansthan Raigad’, at Taluka- Pen, Dist. Raigad, which was enormously successful in every respect.

This ‘beyond expectation’ success on one hand has encouraged us to go ahead with many other activities and on the other hand has given us spiritual strength and energy for the activities we have planned to undertake during the year 2007.

Jan Shikshan Sansthan Raigad, running under aegis of Yuvak Pratishthan, was sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, New Delhi .

The fair called ‘Melawa 2007’ conducted for the beneficiaries who have completed their courses and those who are being trained in different vocational courses. The main objective of the Melawa was:

More than 1200 beneficiaries from different Taluka of Raigad District of Maharashtra , were participated the Melawa. Dr. Medha Somaiya, Chairperson, J.S.S. Raigad; Mrs. Geeta Vaishampayan, Director (I/c); Dr. Kirit Somaiya, President, Yuvak Pratishthan Mumbai; Shri Naren Jadhav, Vice-Chairman J.S.S. Raigad; Smt. The Chief Guests Shri Vinay Apte addressed the beneficiaries about the goods prepared by them and highlighted that a course should be developed on acting as many of the Marathi people working in the field of acting so if the course is developed many talented guys would come up in future.  Also the beneficiaries who have completed the Beauty Parlor & Fashion Designing would also get good opportunity in the film industry.

Smt. Vaijayanti Apte addressed on publicity in Entrepreneurship development. She was impressed by the products made by Adivasi womens & appreciated the Chairperson for her efforts for Melawa. She also gave good wishes for all newly launched small enterpreneurs. She said that whatever product we do, it needs publicity through proper channel. She encourages the participants by giving following examples. One handicapped girl got a lot of market after her show in a ‘Manasi’ programme on Zee Marathi. Another example of a girl who is expert in Mehendi. Now days she takes a lot of orders for Mehendi.

Dr. Prachi Jawadekar addressed the beneficiaries regarding management in their fields or profession. How to come up in their business? Indian womens are successful at management from their inborn itself. Womens can do among 32000 different types of work. Also she gave some easy ways for being good enterpreneurs. She told that every business can be divided in three main parts i.e. Production, Skill & Technical Skill. For every business planning is very necessary thing.  Whenever we wish to set up a business, one should know all necessary things i.e.

1.      From which market we could purchase raw material, machineries.

2.      Sufficient Manpower is available or not at that place.

3.      Product should be based on public demand.

4.      Where we can get market for final product e.g. if we want to sale Detergent powder, first we’ve to do survey that which detergent is mostly used in that area.

5.      Last but most important thing is quality. We should maintain the same quality of product from starting.

She said that J.S.S. Raigad conducting a very good course of M. S. Office, Internet & E-Mail. From Internet we can get various information.

She also gave one example of Smt. Sunita Ramnathan who started a business of Pen. Now her turnover is Rs. 1000 corers

Jyoti Gosavi – JSS is a good example how to utilize the grant in proper manner for the welfare & self-employment of needful people.
