Nirmal MMR Abhiyan 2007-2010

MMRDA has proposed construction of 30 thousand toilets in different URBAN LOCAL BODIES (ULB) beyond Mumbai MCGM limit under NIRMAL MMR ABHIYAN SCHEME. This is one of the biggest toilet block project. We YUVAK PRATISHTHAN is one of the reputed NGO for this work. We have started construction of 75 toilet block in the year 2007. Construction of 1005 seats in 53 community toilets in 14 towns of Mumbai Metropolitan Region is completed. The 48 are handed over to community Based Organisations. Individual Toilets are constructed in each squatter where sewer line is available.

Apna Shauchalaya (Individual Toilets)

This project provides options for better sanitation to the people living in slums and hutments. This project is supported by BMC. Individual Toilets is another concept providing sanitation facility for every house in slums and chawls. 987 Toilets completed.

It is working in Mulund. From last 10 years Women's wing of BTVM is actively organising programmes in various areas for children and women such as Sanskar Shibir, Dandiya, Funfairs, Lectures etc. BTVM is running the Pre - Vocational Training Centre for mentally challenged children at Mulund (In Association with Chatanya Palak Sangh). 35 mentally challenged young persons are now in the BTVM training centre and it is trying to train these students in different fields & is working for their skill up-gradation to make them self dependant.
